Brentford's new fish and chip shop opened this week and Brentford Nub News sampled its offering.

Cod N Rock at 9 London Road was doing a brisk trade when we visited on Thursday night.

Fish and chips is what we really wanted, although the venue does a range of takeaway food.

We sampled the cod and chips. And we were not disappointed.

The fish was fresh, plenty of it, encased in thin melt-in-the mouth batter.

The portions were generous with lots of chips, even if you order the small portion.

Service was friendly and quick.

This is just what Brentford needed - a town centre chippy providing top quality food.

We will certainly be having a weekly fish and chip night now this excellent takeaway is open in the heart of Brentford.
