Monday 4 January - Tuesday 5 January

Tuesday 5 January - Wednesday 6 January

Wednesday 6 January - Thursday 7 January

Thursday 7 January - Friday 8 January

Friday 8 January - Saturday 9 January

The council asks households to note the changes as some are earlier than the normal collection day.

There will be no collection of garden waste or bulky waste during these two weeks.

Cllr Guy Lambert, Cabinet Member for Highways, Recycling and Companies, praised waste and recycling teams who have been exceptionally busy in the past year.

He said: "Our waste and recycling teams have been hard at work all the way through the COVID-19 pandemic, providing an essential and much-valued service to our residents.

"I would like to thank them for their dedication and hard work in all sorts of weathers collecting waste and recycling, which has increased during the pandemic because people are spending more time at home. This has meant they are working longer hours due to the extra workload.

"Their steadfast service ensured we were able, unlike many Councils, to empty all our residents' bins and collect recycling during the two lockdowns.

"We want them to have some much-needed time off with their families over Christmas. They are front-line workers, like many health professionals, and they help to keep Hounslow clean and tidy.

"Christmas and the New Year is a busy time for many, so we're making it as easy as possible for people to understand how they can recycle efficiently by providing clear guidance on what can and can't be recycled.

"We are also offering a free Christmas tree collection service. We hope this will help residents waste less and recycle more over the festive period and beyond."
