OVER 35,000 Hounslow residents have been vaccinated in the first two weeks of the 'Step Up For Hounslow' campaign as of Tuesday, June 8.
The figure of 35,930 includes first and second doses and brings Hounslow's total vaccinations tally to more than 251,000 vaccines administered (as of June 8).
Hounslow's Director of Public Health, Kelly O'Neill, appealed to parents to support the campaign as pupils return to the classroom following the half-term break: "If we are going to keep the June 21 roadmap date possible then now is the time for everyone to 'Step Up For Hounslow'.
"Even if you are one of the 251,000 people who have had their vaccination in the borough so far, it is vital you get a PCR test.
"We all need to contribute to keeping children in school and reducing the spread of the Delta variant.
"Please get a PCR test as soon as you can, even if you are taking regular LFT 'rapid tests'."
Several vaccination sites are in operation across Hounslow Borough to make it as easy as possible for residents to get their jab – including Brentford Leisure Centre and pop-up sites at the Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha and the Hounslow Jamia Masjid and Islamic Centre.
Local radio adverts have also been rolled out this week to encourage everyone to 'Step up' as part of the Surge PCR testing and increased vaccination programme which will continue in the borough for approximately another three weeks.
