The New Year Honours List 2024 features two individuals that have been acknowledged for their services to education and sport in Brentford and Hounslow.
Honours are decided by an honours committee who give recommendations to the Prime Minister and then to the King who awards the honour.
Jonathan Robert McGoh, has been awarded an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for his services to education in Hounslow.
McGoh is the chair and co-founder of The Reach Foundation and co-founder and trustee of Reach Academy Feltham.
The Reach Foundation is a charity which aims to support children in Feltham via an "all-through" schooling experience.
The charity believes: "Every child deserves to enjoy a life of choice and opportunity. We act locally, around the UK, through a community based cradle-to-career model, grounded in great schools.
"We pursue systemic change, delivered locally and nationally informed."
Brentford FC Community Sports Trust Chief Executive, Lee Dykes has been awarded a British Empire Medal (BEM) for his services to sport and the community in Brentford and Hounslow.
The Bee's trust has been delivering programmes in education, employability, sports, health and community engagement throughout Hounslow for more than three decades.
Having worked with the trust for 35 years, Doyle has seen the organisation grow from a small team in the mid-80s to over 150 staff now, plus a large volunteer base who together now deliver more than 13,000 community sessions each year.
Reacting to receiving the award, Doyle said: "It has been an amazing journey, full of inspiring characters, dedicated to realising the potential of people and places, and there is much more to come.
"The creative feature of working in sport and community development means there is always the next challenge and new partnership to build.
"With our fantastic Stadium hub and adjacent Parklife base at Gunnersbury Park, reaching out to many other community settings, supported by the Premier League, PFA, and partner funding, we are increasing our work in mental and physical wellbeing, training, and employability.
"With the Club and Trust being committed to an innovative, inclusive approach in every part of what we do, I am proud to be a Bee."
Last year, three individuals were recognised in the 2023 New Year Honours List.
