More new plants have arrived at the new Syon Park Garden Centre and farm shop, fuelling speculation that it will open to the public imminently.

Hillier Nurseries have taken over the site and have always said Spring is their target for opening.

As we are now well into April, and with major refurbishment appearing to be almost complete, everyone is waiting eagerly for an announcement.

With lockdown restrictions set to be eased from next Monday (April 12), as confirmed by prime minister Boris Johnson last night, it means outside eating and venues will be reopened.

Cryptically, Hillier said on its Facebook page: "We're hoping to show you soon what we've been up to here over the past months."

It also posted pictures of new plants and one of the installation of its heating system.

The new centre will also include two new eateries, - a café and separate restaurant.
