A man is in hospital with potentially life-changing injuries after being assaulted in Chiswick last Friday evening (7 May).

The emergency services found the 21-year-old with significant injuries to his legs and arms after being called to Church Path, near South Acton train station, at 10.16pm.

The wounds are not believed to have been inflicted by a knife.

He was taken by ambulance to a London Hospital where his condition remains serious but stable.

Detective Inspector Jane Mallett said: "We believe the victim suffered his injuries as the result of a sustained attack by a number of others.

"They may well be life-changing and he is likely to require extensive medical treatment as he recovers. Any witnesses who saw this incident should call police immediately."

No arrests have been made to date and police are appealing for any witnesses or information relating to this incident.
