A MAN has been jailed for nine years and nine months after being arrested in possession of two submachine guns in Chiswick.

David Longhor, 20, of Southall, was arrested on March 2 close to Chiswick Park station in possession of firearms.

According to the Daily Mirror, he was sentenced on Wednesday, July 21, after being found guilty of two counts of possession of a prohibited weapon with intent to endanger life and one count of ammunition with intent to endanger life.

Longhor had left his home at around 6:15pm and walked to Southall train station, carrying a black rucksack and wearing latex gloves.

He boarded a train to Ealing Broadway and then changed trains to Chiswick Park.

That's where specialist crime and firearms officers detained him and searched him.

He initially denied carrying any firearms, but upon inspection, the police found them in a wrapped box, along with 40 rounds of ammunition.

Longhor proceeded to argue that the guns weren't his but was arrested anyway.

When entering a plea of guilty on April 22, the 20-year-old claimed he had been transporting the weapons for someone else as a way of paying off a debt.

Despite his arguments, Longhor was sentenced to prison nonetheless.
