The Magpie & Crown is offering a budget menu

The Magpie and Crown in Brentford is reopening today and is offering what it calls a "budget bites" menu to get around the "substantial meal" rule.

Under tier 2 restrictions, drinkers must consume a meal on the premises.

The Magpie, a traditional community public house on Brentford High Street, opposite Market Square, is offering affordable meals from £4.50-£6.

Lunches are priced from just £3. The pub says it is offering "nothing flash, just hearty pub grub".

Its opening times are Wednesday 5pm, Thursday to Saturday 12-3 / 5.30-11pm, Sunday 12-9pm.
