England Women are set to host Australia at the GTech Community Stadium as part of a double header with the men's side.

Following the success of the UEFA Women's European Championship last summer, the Gtech Community Stadium is set to host the Lionesses for the first time in their game against the Matildas on Tuesday 11th April.

As part of the build-up to the FIFA Women's World Cup 2023 in Australia and New Zealand, Sarina Wiegman's side will welcome the hosts to West London in a pre-tournament friendly.

This is part of two-match window in April which will also see England Women take on South American champions Brazil in the Finalissima at Wembley.

This game will be part of a two-game series in London as both men's sides will face off against each other at Wembley Stadium on Friday 13th October.

This match will be the fourth time that a senior England international will be hosted in Brentford, as the Lionesses played at Griffin Park on three occasions, drawing 0-0 with Finland Women in a friendly in 1988, beating Slovenia Women 10-0 in a friendly in 1994, and then beating Portugal Women 3-0 in a qualifier for the 1997 UEFA Women's European Championship.

The last time the Lionesses faced the Matildas was back in October 2018, across West London at Craven Cottage, the game ended in a 1-1 draw with Fran Kirby and Clare Polkinghorne getting the goals.

The Gtech Community Stadium hosted four games at last summer's Euros, including three matches in Group B and a quarter final win for eventual runners-up Germany, as they beat Austria 2-0.
