The pandemic has led to a funding shortfall

The Canal and River Trust is appealing for donations after its funding has been decimated by the pandemic.

Brentford and Isleworth people have highlighted the waterways as being their favourite aspects of living in the town.

The Trust said: "Our canals and rivers give us blue spaces to exercise, get closer to nature and explore our wonderful heritage. There's no better place to find the calming and restorative space that we all need right now.

"But making sure that we can all enjoy them takes a lot of care. With our charity facing funding shortfalls due to the pandemic, we urgently need your help today.

"Please support your local canal from just £1 a month.

"It may not sound a lot. But it all adds up and can do so much. Your local canal needs your support today. Please will you help make life better by water?"
