Work Hounslow will welcome over twenty organisations to a free Apprentice Marketplace event at Hounslow House on Wednesday, 7 February from 10.30am - 3.30pm.

The event falls during National Apprenticeship Week and will feature a mix of employers and education providers including: Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust , Cisco, K10, London Fire Brigade, Metropolitan Police, Ministry of Defence, Metroline, National Physical Laboratory, North West London Health & Social Care Skills Academy,  University of West London, and many more.

Attendees will be able to:

  • Discover more about apprenticeship opportunities or training programmes to increase skill levels
  • Meet employers and training providers to discuss accredited qualifications to improve career prospects
  • Speak to national and local organisations to learn about good local jobs

Councillor Lily Bath, Cabinet Member for Education, Children, Skills, and Employment said: "We're thrilled to be hosting what should be a busy and exciting day. Our Youth, Skills and Employment Guarantee (YSEG) seeks to promote the many apprenticeship opportunities in our borough, but this event is also for everyone interested in upskilling and honing existing skills."

Adam Sapey, COO of K10, who specialise in construction and infrastructure apprenticeships, and are attending the event, added: "Construction is a massive multi-billion-pound industry and the very least that should be happening is people should be given opportunities to learn new skills and become part of that industry.

"It's common for school leavers to be encouraged to go to university and that's fine, but a skilled trades person can be earning very good money before they're thirty years of age, without having to build up any debts to pay for their training.

"Apprenticeships are accessible to all ages so it'd be great to see as many people as possible attending the event."
