Hounslow Council appoint new executive director of finance and resources

Jake Bacchus has been appointed as Hounslow's new Executive Director of Finance and Resources.

He is joining Hounslow Council from Westminster City Council where he has been Director of Finance for three years.

In his current role, Mr Bacchus is also Chief Financial Officer for the Council's housing company, supporting the delivery of truly affordable housing across Westminster.

He's led on a number of notable projects including the Councils £2.5billion capital programme and implementing a 'green bond' in Westminster – inviting residents and businesses to contribute to the City's Net Zero ambition.

Mr Bacchus is has also worked on a number of other key projects and programmes in Westminster, from Oxford Street redevelopment to delivering fully electric, zero-emission waste collection vehicles.

Welcoming Mr Bacchus into the role, Leader of Hounslow Council, Councillor Shantanu Rajawat said: "We are delighted to welcome to the Council.

"There has never been a more challenging time for local government finances and having the best people for the job is crucial to ensuring we continue to deliver effectively for our residents.

"Jake joining us is a testament to our work as a leading Council in London and I look forward to working closely alongside him."

Chief Executive, Niall Bolger, added: "Jake's expertise and brilliant financial stewardship, alongside his passion for public sector, is well suited to this important role at Hounslow.

"I am confident he will be a great asset to our organisation as we progress the implementation of our Corporate Strategy – Ambitious for Hounslow and Delivery Plan."
