Hounslow Community Foodbox celebrated a 'milestone' with its garden project at Brentford Brickfield Centre after receiving plant beds from Borras Construction Ltd.

The construction company donated and helped installed new knee-high plant beds so that the charity could plant its own produce for residents across Hounslow.

Led by Lead Gardener Marta Elsesser, the initiative aims to involve local residents in cultivating fresh fruit and vegetables, particularly benefiting the elderly and those with disabilities.

Hounslow Community Foodbox via Facebook said: "Local residents of the estate will now be able to get involved and grow fresh fruit and vegetables on their doorstep for the community.

"The knee-height beds will be a huge benefit to the elderly and those with disabilities, who may have been previously been limited to get involved."
