HOUNSLOW Borough has seen a decrease in the number of new coronavirus cases following last week's small increase.

Specifically, there was a decrease of over 13% of new cases in the latest COVID-19 figures that were released.

In the week of May 31 to June 6, Hounslow Borough saw 129 new positive cases, compared to 149 the week before.

That figure represents a decrease of 13.4%, with 20 fewer new cases.

That means there was also a decrease in the number of new cases per 100,000 residents, with 47.6, compared to 55.0 the week before.

Those figures are now lower than the average across both London and England.

London as a whole had 4,618 new cases during the week of May 31 to June 6, which represents 51.5 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

England saw 30,363 new cases during the same week, correlating to 53.9 cases per 100,000 people.
