Heston Community School has been closed due to an increase of Covid-19 cases.

The school was closed on Friday and will undergo a deep clean.

Parents have been told of the closure and will be kept updated by the school which has planned arrangements for pupils to continue their learning from home.

It is expected to reopen on Monday 23 November.

Cllr Tom Bruce, Cabinet Member for Education, Children and Youth Services, said: "The headteacher and his team are doing a great job in managing a very challenging situation.

"This closure will give time for a full deep clean and help break the chain of infection. We understand the inconvenience this may cause for some parents, but it is the right decision.

"The safety of pupils and teachers must be our priority. Hounslow's Public Health team are working with school leaders to ensure the school reopens safely."
