THE Holiday Activities and Food Programme (HAF) has returned this summer, providing exciting activities and a meal for children aged 5-16 in Brentford and throughout Hounslow Borough.
Families are being encouraged to take full advantage of a wide variety of fun activities taking place, including football, arts and crafts, boxing, drama and gardening among others.
Any family that is entitled to free school meals can apply for a place for their child at a range of holiday clubs and activities.
Each eligible child is entitled up to 16 days' worth of fun activities along with a meal across the summer.
Cllr Tom Bruce, Cabinet Member for Education, Children and Youth Services said: "We know that school holidays can be a challenging time for families on low incomes and that the past year has been particularly tough due to the disruption caused by the pandemic.
"The programme enables children to have enriching experiences while helping to alleviate any parental pressure to keep the kids engaged with learning.
"School holidays present a fantastic opportunity for children to develop while having fun experiences, socialising with their peers and make lasting memories – and no child should miss out on that.
"I'm thankful to the incredible campaigning across the country, by the likes of footballer Marcus Rashford MBE and others, who have helped extend the scheme to cover this year's summer holidays too."
