For the second year in a row, Dukes Meadows in Hounslow has been awarded the prestigious Gold Award from London in Bloom.

To receive the Gold award, the riverside park in neighbouring Chiswick had to receive a score of 85% or above from London in Bloom's judges. By achieving this, the Dukes Meadow Trust has been recognised for providing outstanding improvements and maintenance for its park.

This accolade follows the successes of earlier in the year where 21 of Hounslow's parks and green spaces – including Dukes Meadows – received the coveted Green Flag Award from Tidy Britain Group.

In delivering the award, the London in Bloom judge commented: "The park appears to me to be in good hands, kind hearts and run by dedicated people who care deeply. Well done, keep it up, your award is well deserved for the staff, committee, volunteers, and trustees."

Hounslow Council's Cabinet Member for Parking, Parks and Leisure, Councillor Salman Shaheen said: "Retaining the London in Bloom Gold Award is only possible through continued dedication from the Dukes Meadows Trust, and support from the Council and Lampton Greenspace 360. I would like to thank everyone involved in keeping Dukes Meadows to the Gold standard; it's a pleasure to see such an aesthetic and versatile green space get the recognition it deserves.

"The Council will continue to work closely with the Dukes Meadows Trust and its partners to maintain and improve the park, ensuring it remains a standout feature in the borough and contributes to a greener Hounslow.

"This result for Dukes Meadows is yet another example of how valuable green spaces are to Hounslow, and testament to the work that goes on behind the scenes to ensure the borough has some of the best parks in London.

"We encourage visitors and residents to explore the wonderful Dukes Meadows at the next available opportunity."

Hounslow Council and its partner Lampton Greenspace 360 are committed to providing high-quality, and well-maintained open spaces for residents and all visitors.

  • Dukes Meadows Trust has a program of Autumn projects to plant more trees and further enhance the planting in the play area. Volunteers are always welcome, please contact [email protected] to get involved.
