Hounslow Council has completed a new section of Cycleway 9 (C9) with a two-way bike path between Kew Bridge Road and Watermans Park.

The work began on 27 March 2023 and now connects the South Circular with the new cycle path through Watermans Park which ends near the Arts Centre.

Bus stops on Kew Bridge Road have been moved to islands which will require passengers to cross the cycleway.

The new cycle lane includes "high-quality" raised paving and a signalled crossing point connecting the bi-directional cycle path on Kew Bridge Road, to the one-way cycle path on Brentford High Street.

On its website, TFL said: "Cycleway 9 (C9) will make cycling and walking easier, safer and more appealing on roads in west Kensington, Hammersmith, Chiswick and Brentford town centre."

Hounslow Council says the remainder of C9 from Watermans Park to Alexandra Road will begin "late October and last until summer 2024."
