Councillor Guy Lambert was recently appointed Cabinet Member for Environment, Highways and Operational Services at Hounslow Council.

Elected as a Councillor in 2018 and representing Brentford West, here are five things about him that you may not have known:

  1. He was brought up near Liverpool but has lived in the borough for more than 40 years. He currently lives in Brentford, overlooking the rivers Brent and Thames and a five-minute walk from Brentford High Street. He's really excited by the development of Brentford town centre, which will really begin to blossom next year.
  2. His favourite place in the borough is Boston Manor Park. He loves the diverse environment, and the way that investment from the Council and partners is transforming both the park and the Grade 1 listed Jacobean mansion. The mansion was built in 1622 so its even older than him!
  3. He is passionate about the need to reduce fly-tipping and graffiti. He strongly believes it negatively impacts on the quality of life for so many residents.  He's committed to reducing the blight of fly-tipping through a combination of enforcement and education.
  4. His daughter is a Special Educational Needs (SEN) teacher at a mainstream school in Chiswick. Before being a Councillor, he was a senior executive in the IT industry and then CEO of a company that gave IT support to universities and colleges.
  5. His real passion is cycling, which he discovered in his 60s. Having been a committed motorist all his life, his car is now a lonely figure!
