BRENTFORD'S clash against Arsenal will kick off the new Premier League season, it has been announced.

The match, originally scheduled for Saturday, August 14, has been moved to Friday, August 13 at 8pm and will be live on Sky Sports.

The Premier League broadcast partners have made their selections for the first three weeks of the season, with Brentford's second and third matches against Crystal Palace on August 21 and Aston Villa on August 28, not being selected for live coverage.

It's also been rumoured that two other fixtures are likely to move too.

Brentford play West Ham on October 2 and Leicester City on October 23, with both teams playing in the Europa League on Thursdays before those matches.

Therefore it is highly likely that those matches will either move to Sunday or Monday.

The exact dates for those games will be published once the broadcast selections for October are announced.
