HOUNSLOW Council's Registration Services have gone digital, meaning that Brentford residents can now book appointments online for services like registering births, deaths and marriages.

Residents will no longer need to call to book appointments and can instead use the online forms.

As well as booking appointments, residents will be able to make payments in advance.

They will also be allowed to cancel and rebook appointments without having to call, but a telephone service will remain in place in case people need any help.

Councillor Pritam Grewal, Hounslow Council Cabinet Member for Customer Services and Corporate Performance, said: "Residents tell us they want our services to be convenient and easy to use and being able to book appointments to register births, deaths and marriage online will definitely make life easier for people.

"These life events can be incredibly stressful with many things to do and arrange at the same time.

"Being able to book these key appointments on a phone or laptop and removing the need to call will be a real help in what can be challenging and sometimes difficult times in peoples' lives."

This is the first phase of the Council's Registration Services going digital, with more to follow later on in the year.
