The Brentford Safer Neighbourhood (Brentford SNT) police team has announced the launch of a 'Positive Action Initiative' (PAI) in the local area.

Over the next eight weeks police will "combat a variety of ongoing issues" within Brentford that affects residents the most, prioritising the policing of parks and green spaces in the area, burglaries, anti-social behaviour and drugs.

To increase the visibility of the policing team among the local community, Brentford SNT will also host a number of events, including bike marking sessions, street briefings and 'Coffee with a Copper'.

Brentford SNT, which is currently made up of PC Daniel Topps, PC Dan Angelina, PCSO Angela Mirzai and sergeant PS Jim Cope, said they are "delighted" to be undertaking their first ever PAI.

In a bulletin announcing the initiative, they said: ""We understand the frustrations that many of our residents tell us that they don't know who we are or what we do

"The role of the SNT is to work within the local community to build strong links and connections with both residents, stakeholders, councillors and businesses to ensure we are doing all we can to keep everyone safe.

We remain focused on ensuring that our ward priorities are relevant to what the residents of Brentford feel affects them the most. Our current priorities remain as; Parks and Green Spaces; Burglaries; ASB and Drugs."
