A Brentford man has been charged with causing more than £17,000 worth of damage to a train carriage.

The carriage was allegedly sprayed with extensive graffiti at a railway depot in Ruislip in October 2018.

The damage caused cost a total of £17,864 due to the need for cleaning and the removal of the train from service.

George Dimech, 27, of High Street, Brentford, was arrested and has since been charged with causing criminal damage to property.

He is due to appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates Court on Monday April 12.
