A 69-year-old man from Brentford has been charged for possession of what police have described as a large quantity of firearms.

Christopher Thomas Kedge faces 14 separate charges following discoveries of the prohibited weapons made at two properties in Hounslow.

Searches of the properties were conducted in April 2021 and February 2022 by officers from the Met's Specialist Crime Command after a man was found in possession of a firearm.

The charges Mr Kedge faces which follow what the Met called a complex investigation include possession of a smooth bore revolver and a shotgun.

A police spokesperson said: "The public should be reassured by these seizures and our strong commitment to making London's streets safer by removing these dangerous weapons."

Mr Kedge has been bailed and a trial set for under a year's time on 23 August, 2023 at Isleworth Crown Court.
