The car park on Brentford High Street looks set to be given retrospective planning permission.

The building built by town centre developers Ballymore, was put up without consent.

Now planning officers are recommending that temporary approval be given.

Permission was granted for a temporary car park of 150 spaces at a different site but Ballymore went ahead with the construction of the nine-storey building near Dock Road because it felt the original location would have hampered construction work.

The redevelopment will bring 900 homes along with retail, commercial and leisure facilities and is known as The Brentford Project.

Planning chiefs say the current car park satisfies the intent of the planning obligation to provide temporary car parking in the town centre up until the completion of a permanent building.
