Brentford FC's player welfare manager included in New Year's Honours List

Brentford FC's Player Welfare Manager has been included in the New Year's Honours list for services to football and the community in the London Borough of Hounslow. 

Peter Gilham has been awarded the British Empire Medal for his work at Brentford and his charity work in Hounslow. 

Gilham is the UK's longest serving stadium PA announcer and has been a lifelong fan of the Bees. 

The British Empire Medal is awarded to those deserving recognition for their service to society or military service, it has been part of the New Year's Honours since 1917.
