Brentford FC fans look set to make their debut in the club's brand new stadium after London was put into tier 2 restrictions from next week.

The government announced earlier this week that up to 2,000 fans would be allowed into football matches in areas in tier 2.

Most fans have yet to set foot inside the new Lionel Road stadium where the club is playing its first season.

Emails have been sent to season ticket holders asking them to complete a survey telling the club whether they would be prepared to attend games with reduced capacities in the coming weeks.

The club wants fans to complete the survey as soon as possible, the deadline is Sunday 29 November.

It is asking for information on the size of household groups who are frozen season ticket holders.

Anyone who will want to book for other season ticket holders in their household will need to ensure all are included on their friends and family list in the ticketing system.

Jon Varney, Brentford FC Chief Executive, said: "This is clearly a massive step in the right direction and is very good news.

"We should be able to get our fans inside our stadium in the very near future. I cannot wait for that first roar for a Brentford goal and nor can our players."
