An elderly pedestrian has died from injuries sustained in a road traffic accident in Brentford last weekend.

Emergency services including London's Air Ambulance were called at 10.29pm on Sunday (June 26) to reports of a collision between a car and a pedestrian on Great West Road, at the junction with Syon Lane.

The pedestrian, an 88-year-old man, was taken to a hospital in central London with life threatening injuries which he succumbed to on Monday (June 27).

His next of kin have been informed and a post-mortem examination will take place as soon as possible.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene and is assisting police with their enquiries.

No arrests have been made.

Detectives from the Met's Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are leading the investigation and have appealed for witnesses to the collision, or anyone who might have captured the events on CCTV or dash cam footage, to contact them on 020 8543 5157 quoting reference 7510/26JUN.
