Borrow or buy a bicycle for a month from just £10

Residents can borrow or buy a bicycle for a month from just £10 in a new scheme from Hounslow Council that aims to encouraging more people to start cycling.

At the end of the four weeks, the flexible bike scheme, run by Pedal my Wheels on behalf of the council, allows you to buy the bike if you like it, at a discounted price or pay monthly until you own it.

Cllr Hanif Khan, Cabinet Member for Transport and One Hounslow, said: "If you're thinking about taking up cycling, whether for fitness, fun or for commuting, then this is the perfect opportunity to try the bike before you buy it.

"We all know Hounslow is one of the most beautiful boroughs in London and a bike would enable people to explore our wonderful parks and open spaces.

"Cycling benefits physical and mental wellbeing and is part of the Council's ambition to get residents more active and reduce their carbon footprint.

"Included in this fantastic offer are free cycle safety sessions, which will help people to feel more confident."

Prices start from £10 for kids, £20 for adults, £20 for folding, £50 for electric and £100 for cargo bikes.

The bike is delivered directly to your door complete with a short induction session.

There is a range of bikes to try with a helpful guide to selecting the right one for you.
