An Italian restaurant popular with many Brentford residents has closed for good due to the impact of coronavirus.

ASK on Kew Green has shut its doors after the pandemic affected the number of customers coming into the restaurant.

The company said: "The Covid-19 crisis has hit the restaurant sector hard and we've had to make some incredibly difficult decisions.

"It is with deep sadness that we confirm ASK Italian Kew is now closed."

Brentford diners took to social media to express their sorrow. One said: "Spent many a lunchtime and evening at ASK. Food and service was always excellent. Very sad to learn it is to close."

The nearest ASK restaurant to Brentford can be found in Kensington, the restaurant chain said.
