As more and more events are being organised locally Nub News is launching a new weekly round up of what's on in Brentford each weekend.

Every Thursday we will now bring you our top picks of the events in our  What's On section for the coming weekend.

Here are our top event picks for the coming days:

1. James Bond at the Watermans

From this Friday, residents will be able to watch the much-anticipated new James Bond film, 'No Time to Die', in Brentford.

The Watermans cinema will now be screening the 163-minute long film throughout the rest of October.

So, if you haven't watch it yet, get your tickets to see Daniel Craig in his final role as James Bond and to support local cinema.

"Bond is back, cinema is back, and it feels just great."

-4 Stars, Dennis Mann, Daily Express.

There are screenings at 2:30 pm and 6:30 pm this Friday.

The film will be shown at the Watermans until 28 October.

2. Brentford FC vs Chelsea FC

The Brentford home game against Chelsea is here! In what will be the first league meeting between the teams since 1947.

Fellow west London side, Chelsea will be welcomed to Brentford Community Stadium this Saturday, 16 October, with a 5.30pm kick-off.

The Bees go into the game on the back of a win away to West Ham United.

That was Brentford's second successive away win and The Bees have taken seven points from their last three matches.

Chelsea are, however, one of the teams above them. The Blues have won five of their seven games so far this term and lost just one, to Manchester City.

Whatever happens, this will be an epic watch no doubt with two highly skilled and determined teams going head-to-head.

If you don't have a ticket to the game then catch the match live on Sky Sports in the UK, and Brentford fans can also listen live on Bees Player.

Travel warnings have been issued for the day, as planned engineering work will take place over the weekend.

More details here.

3.Dance Takeover at the Watermans

The Watermans are holding a two-day dance takeover at the weekend, hosted by London's international dance festival, Dance Umbrella.

On Sunday, there will be a free paper craft drop-in workshop for under 5s and their grown-ups, to create before or after the theatre performance Club Origami.

The workshop will be from 10:30am to 4:15pm in the foyer.

An immersive and interactive dance show, Club Origami invites the family to create, imagine and explore whole new ways of thinking, playing and moving.

The production will happen at 11am, 1pm and 3pm.

4. Player Panel Event for Black History Month at London Museum of Water and Steam

This event falls on the Monday but we felt it deserved a mention.

The London Museum of Water & Steam are hosting a player panel event as part of Black History Month, this October.

Players from Brentford FC from each of the last four decades will discuss and celebrate the experience of black players at Brentford.

The panel will include Francis Joseph, Marcus Gayle, Marcus Bean and Salma Mahamud.

The event will be hosted by Brentford club director, Deji Davies.

Event is from 6:30 am – 9 pm on Monday 18 October.

It will take place at the London Museum of Water & Steam, Green Dragon Lane, Brentford, TW8 0EN.
