A mouse took a stroll through the deep dark wood…

A hairy beast will be passing through Brentford this December as, for one and a half weeks, The Gruffalo comes to town.

Watermans presents their 2021 Christmas Show - the Tall Stories production of The Gruffalo.

Based on the award-winning picture book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffer, The Gruffalo show by internationally acclaimed theatre company, Tall Stories, premiered in the UK in 2001 and has been touring around the world ever since.

Performed in 16 countries and 5 continents – including twice at Sydney Opera House, twice on Broadway, ten West End seasons and once at the National Theatre, the show comes to none other than Brentford next month.

The iconic Gruffalo picture book is the winner of numerous awards including the Nestle Smarties Book Prize Gold Award and Blue Peter Book Award.

It has sold over 13.5 million copies worldwide and been translated in over 57 different languages.

It was also voted the UK's favourite bedtime story by BBC Radio 2 listeners.

The story

Mouse ventures on a daring adventure through the deep, dark wood.

Searching for hazelnuts, Mouse meets the cunning Fox, the eccentric old Owl and the high-spirited Snake.

Will the story of the terrifying Gruffalo save Mouse from ending up as dinner for these hungry woodland creatures? After all, there's no such thing as a Gruffalo – is there?

Tall Stories' magical, musical adaptation promising songs, laughs and monstrous fun and the performance is ideal for children aged three and up and their grown-ups.

It will run from Thursday 2, December to Saturday 11, December with 1.30pm and 4.00pm shows.

The play lasts 55 minutes and tickets range from £15 - £18.

Be quick to book as some evenings have already sold out.
