THE Arts Centre, Hounslow, will be running a series of workshops for their upcoming Footprints Festival, celebrating the environment with a mission to clean up the borough.

The festival, running from 27 September to 10 October, hopes to improve air quality, free parks and streets of litter and increase bee and wildlife population.

The two-week long 'festival of the environment' will include a series of silent disco litter picking events to get you in the litter picking mood.

Litter picking themes include; sounds of the 60s, 70s, 90s and 00s, family pop, classical with poetry, Bollywood and classic rock.

The festival also promises to offer lots of freebies, including tote bags, bee friendly seeds & artwork prints to all visitors.

Events include a lesson in urban farming with Hen Corner, run by Sara Ward, who recently undertook an impressive river swim in the London Royal Docks.

There will be a theatre production called 'Thea Saves Her Parents' for children and families, where Thea has a final adventure and 'saves her parents from destroying the world'.

You can collect the free, bee friendly wildflower seeds by bringing a used envelope, or something similar, to the Arts Centre, available during festival opening hours - while stocks last!

So you can recognise the types of bees visiting, they will also give you an art print that tells you about the different species.

They will also be running bee friendly window box and bug hotel making sessions, so the critters have a nice place to sleep in your garden or outdoor space.
