Police broke up a group of about 30 people at a property behind Chiswick High Road where they found a large machete hidden in a fridge.

Officers backed up by the Territorial Support Group were called shortly after midnight last Sunday after reports of people entering the property in Horticultural Place.

Police discovered about 30 people in attendance.

They also found a "significant" amount of alcohol and a large machete hidden inside the fridge.

A 32-year-old man was identified as the organiser of the event and reported for a £10,000 fine for breaching Covid-19 Regulations.

Inspector Susan Darby, Covid-19 lead for the West Area Command Unit said, "Restrictions are still in place to protect lives; every person who attended this illegal gathering has acted irresponsibly and has potentially put others at risk."
