Police are appealing for information about the theft of a diabetic alert dog that provides life-saving support to his owner.

The incident took place on Thursday, 4 March at about 11:15am, near Pevensey Road, Feltham, a Cocker Spaniel was stolen, whilst out with his owner.

The dog called 'Chester', is an eight-year-old, male and has a black fur with distinctive tan eyebrows, silvery ears and lip markings.

He was wearing a red collar with a name tag and a red harness.

Chester has a specialist skill, where he able to sense the owners' hypoglycaemic episode (low blood sugar) and alerts her so she is able to seek treatment.

Police believe Chester could be anywhere in west London and are asking local people to alert them if they know of his whereabouts.

PC Ben Watson, officer in the case, West Area Command Unit said "The owner of the dog has a serious illness that she is able to manage with the assistance of her dog. I would urge anyone with any information, to contact us"
