One of the new families of the council housing development at Herings Hall Close in Brentford has been welcomed this week to official mark its completion.

Nineteen new homes in Herings Hall Close have been delivered through a partnership between the Council's Housing Development Team, Lampton Property360 and EcoWorld.

They include a range of two, three and four-bedroom homes at council rent for local people, contributing to Hounslow's commitment to build 1,000 new Council homes by April 2022, which has now been achieved.

The official completion was marked this week with Hounslow Council's Leader Cllr Steve Curran meeting one of the families at their brand-new home.

The event was also attended by Syon ward councillor and cabinet member for Communities and Climate Emergency Cllr Katherine Dunne, and Cllr Guy Lambert cabinet member for Highways, Recycling and Companies, as well as representatives of EcoWorld London and Lampton Property360.

Herings Hall Close includes cycle parking spaces, a play area, landscaped gardens as well as a private open space for residents.

The new homes also feature electric vehicle chargers and solar panels, with some houses also including a nesting box for birds and bats.

Councillor Steve Curran said: "I'm really pleased we are able to celebrate the completion of these new council homes, providing families with a better quality of life and a place they are proud to call home.

"The Herings Hall Close development has contributed to us exceeding our target to build council housing across the Borough this year and our pledge to tackle the impact of the housing crisis on our residents and communities.

"I'm particularly proud of the delivery of these homes, despite the challenges, we have successfully built 19 new council homes including three and four-bedrooms properties for larger families.

"We recognise the demand for similar developments, and we will continue to work hard to deliver more homes of this calibre across Hounslow."

Heng Leong Cheong, CEO of EcoWorld London said in the new year 30 affordable homes will be completed at Two Bridges and construction will start on 176 new homes, half of which will be affordable, at New Road Triangle.

Hering Hall Close is situated off the London Road by Hawthorn Road Park.
