Boris Johnson has announced a second national lockdown starting on Thursday.

This will have massive implications for Brentford businesses as pubs, restaurants and non-essential shops and businesses will be forced to close.

Throughout the week Brentford Nub News, your local online newspaper, will bring you updates on how businesses are coping and what their plans are during the lockdown.

If you are a business, we are here to support you and will publicise everything you are doing, whether it be providing takeaway services or making plans to relaunch when the lockdown ends.

Update on businesses and services: Hair and Beauty at Brentford Lock are still taking bookings for hair and nail treatments before lockdown. Call the salon on 0208

Northfields Barber in Northfields Avenue is remaining open until 7pm in the days leading up to lockdown. Anyone wanting a hair cut should just call in. Social distancing measures are in place.

The Weir in Market Place has revised its opening hours for the final days before lockdown. The bar had only been opening Thursday to Sunday but it will open Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday this week from 5pm to 10pm. The pub offers a heated garden and 10% off food except for house specials.

Watermans will remain open on Tuesday and Wednesday.
